born in 2003 when designer rachel pearson's friends began having babies and she wanted to make cute and high quality outfits for them, speesees began as an initial crafts project and became an entrepreneurial mission. with a pocketful of designs and the desire to find the softest cotton possible, rachel wound up in india, manufactured her first line of six (animal print) onesies, and the rest is speesees history.

what does speesees mean, anyways? inspired by our precious animal, plant, and human species, speesees is the way a baby might spell 'species', if a baby could spell. pearson grew up going to a ranch during summers of her childhood (see 'inspiration') and fell in love with the country's creatures, fauna and flora, and the humans who nurtured them. childhood nostalgia and everyday inspiration provide natural fodder for her designs.
